Volunteer Tour Guides for an Orkney Charity Event.

Explore Orkney are currently preparing an autumn charitable event to take less advantaged people from our local community on a sponsored inter-island tour. We would be pleased to hear from experienced tour guides who wish to contribute. Recently qualified tour guides who would like to gain more experience may also find this a worthwhile opportunity.

Aurora Borealis

Free Alert Service

The Northern Lights are unpredictable, occurring usually in the mid-winter months and more often than not late evening or after midnight. When the show is on, it is a spectacular sight. Explore Orkney offer their holiday customers a free Aurora Borealis Alert Service by text message. It is worth getting up for.

Puffins Nest 2008

Last summer, some lucky Explore Orkney holiday visitors experienced the joy of seeing a new puffin family on exposed sea-front rocks in South Ronaldsay.
