Spirits of the Night

Sshhhhh . . .

Image descriptionThis mystical evening tour may mesmerize you with mysteries folklore walks, stories and possibly a spiritual experience while you visit Orkney.

Our evening begins with an introduction to the folklore and mysterious happenings of Orkney as we talk over a three course meal at a fine hostelry. Locally sourced and admirably cooked food with a glass of wine, combined with tales of mystery and ghostly happenings.

Before leaving, we may even greet our first spirit of the night.

Taking the night air, we travel on foot to the grounds of St Magnus Cathedral and thereafter, twixt and between narrow lanes, dark corners and alleyways to hear of spirits from bygone times and modern day hauntings. You will hear of folklore, memorable tales and chilling experiences.

Composed, we board our carriage (with the power of 138 horses) and journey to Sandwick to enjoy fun and light-hearted story telling with verse, merriment and sometimes song.

As the night draws on, we travel back through time at the Ring of Brodgar to be 'at one' with the spirits of ancient times. Here, in the still of the night with Mother Nature's spirit in the breeze, you can sit on the earth, meditate and even embrace a standing stone, some two or three thousand years old.

A fitting place to meet yet another spirit of the night.

Sweet dreams.
